Hyaluronic acid (INCI: Sodium Hyaluronate or Hyaluronic Acid) is a polysaccharide naturally present in the skin's connective tissue. Molecular weight matters

Glycerin (INCI: Glycerin) is a triol — a simple polyhydric alcohol, most often obtained as a by-product of soap or biodiesel production. Used in cosmetics for more than 150 years, it is one of the best-studied cosmetic ingredients.

Its strengths:

  • Exceptional moisturizing performance — in some clinical studies, glycerin showed hydration comparable to or better than hyaluronic acid at concentrations of 5-10%.
  • Strengthening the skin barrier — it stimulates filaggrin synthesis and improves the organization of ceramides in the stratum corneum.
